Be Still

Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner. I can already hear the faint sound of laughter and chiming bells to be had.

A couple Christmases ago, I started a blogging tradition of taking a break from writing during the month of December.

This year, I’m starting that break earlier. This is my “peace out ✌️” post until next year. It’s not what I want to do (I’m sad to leave for so long), but I need to REST.

As much as I love to write, my mental health is deteriorating with each passing breath. The stress of a deadline isn’t something I need right now. After all, that’s how the tradition of taking a break came about.

Before growth comes stillness…

I need to be still and know that my God is good. I need to hold my breath in expectation of what He is building inside of me. I can’t do that to the best of my ability if I’m pushing through burnout.

Happy Thanksgiving and merry Christmas! I hope your year concludes with healing, laughter, and hope.

See you on the other side!

Keep praying & hoping,
Autumn Rebecca
